The Rashtrasant Janardhan Swami College of Nursing has excellent infrastructure which makes students learn in a conducive atmosphere.
1. BuildingThe college of nursing has an independent building that is close to its parent hospital and has sufficient space to suit the demands of students for studying. The well planned infrastructure encompasses Academic Blocks, Administrative Blocks, Faculty Rooms, Library and Laboratories. Adjacent to it is the hostel where students are accommodated. Quarters are also provided for the staff.
2. Class rooms / lecture hallsAdequate number of spacious, well ventilated, lecture halls with comfortable seating arrangements equipped with traditional & modern teaching aids like Green board, White Board, Smart Boards, LCD projectors, and Overhead projector are available.
3. Staff roomsWell-equipped and ventilated rooms for principal, faculty and staff are available.
4. Laboratory facilitiesBefore students engage in clinical practice on actual patients, well-equipped laboratories provide the greatest learning environments for the development of technical skills through practical exercises.
a)Nursing foundation lab:Students are trained in Basic Nursing procedures & Advanced procedures. This lab consists of cots with mattresses, charts, mannequins, advanced Nursing Models, instruments & articles necessary for procedure demonstration.
b)Pre-Clinical Science lab:Spacious, ventilated & well equipped with seating arrangements and charts, posters, models.
c)Computer lab:This lab is well equipped of computers with internet facilities useful for students for Research activities. A provision is made to access e-journals.
d)Maternal & Child Health Nursing lab:Students are trained in Advanced procedures and skills related to the specialty. This lab consists of cots with mattresses, charts, mannequins, advanced Nursing Models, instruments & articles necessary for procedure demonstration.
e)Community health nursing lab:Spacious, ventilated & well equipped with seating arrangements and charts, posters, models, health education plans. Health folders & records related to services provided to the adopted villages are maintained by students.
f)Nutrition lab:This lab is well equipped which facilitates students to learn to prepare various kinds of therapeutic diets.
5. AuditoriumSpacious, well ventilated and equipped with seating arrangements, AV aids such as LCD projector, TV/Video. It is used for conducting various academic and non-academic programs.
6. A V Aid roomIt is well equipped with various kinds of audio and visual aids such as charts, posters, DVDs, VCDs, CDs & cassettes necessary for purpose of teaching, presentations, seminars, demonstrations, workshops and other group activities..
7. Examination hallSpacious, well ventilated and equipped examination hall used for conducting term exams.
8. Hostel facilitiesA separate accommodation is available for boys and girls. Spacious, well ventilated and furnished hostel is available with basic amenities including safe drinking water supply, sanitation & hot water for each floor, and facilities such as reading room, recreation room, sick room, visitor’s lounge, telephone facilities are available. Hostel is safe and provides 24 hours security services.
A mess with hygienic nutritious food is provided in the campus. Students are expected to adhere to hostel rules and regulations. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus.
9. Transportation facilitiesThe college posses’ one large and two small buses. Buses are used to transport students and staff to affiliated hospitals, field visits and community centres.
10. FacultyThe college has qualified and experienced faculty to cater to the needs of the students. They are deputed for higher studies by the institution.
11. Co-curricular and extracurricular activitiesThe college organizes various co-curricular and extracurricular activities under Student nurses’ association, NSS, Gymkhana. Students participate in various intercollegiate competitions, exhibitions, sports and cultural programmes. Students have won prizes in various competitions organized by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (SPANDAN) and other universities.
Facilities are provided to all students for all outdoor and indoor games. Playground is available for all outdoor games such as cricket, volley ball, basketball, throw ball, athletics etc. indoor games available are badminton, table tennis, caroms, and chess.
The clinical experience is being imparted at the parent hospital namely Shri Janardhan Swami Hospital, Kopargaon (314 bedded multispecialty specialty hospital). Further, the clinical experience is gained at various affiliated hospitals namely Shri. Sainath Hospital (300 Bedded), Shri. Saibaba Hospital (300 Bedded), and Dr. Quadri’s Mental Health center, Aurangabad/Sambhaji Nagar (50 bedded exclusively for Mental Health Nursing clinical experience).
The college has adopted urban and rural villages for community health nursing practice.
